the best days of 2013

I can hardly believe this year is over. In some ways 2013 went so fast and in other ways when I think back to last December it seems like so long ago. I think this was the first year I actually remembered and stuck with most of my New Years Resolutions (which is an accomplishment in itself.) Looking back, 2013 has brought lots of changes and new experiences and I'm so grateful for each one of them. These are some of my favorite days from this past year.

The day I flew to Wisconsin to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins.
The last time I traveled to visit Mineral Point, WI was when I was 13
so when I finally had a chance to visit again, I was so excited.
I decided to surprise my cousins and keep it a secret that I was coming.
And with a little help (and a few lies) from my aunt, we completely pulled it off.
Besides spending time with my sweet family, the highlight of my trip was
when I learned how to milk a REAL cow.

The day I went back to Haiti.
Okay, this day may have been my favorite. It was my second trip to Haiti and a week I will never forget (clique, I know. But really) We spent half our time doing work projects and the other half of our time was spent going into the villages and talking/praying with people. It was a week that stretched me and showed me, once again, how much I truly have. The Haitian people have the biggest hearts and I met some of the greatest people and friends in the short time I was there. I think it was even harder to say goodbye the second time around, but I know it won’t be the last time I see this beautiful place!

The day my little brother graduated high school.
I’M SO PROUD. He’s going to be the best teacher.

The day Hannah and I road tripped to Tennessee.
One of the highlights of my summer. Although I’m not a fan of country music, it was so fun doing all the touristy things in Nashville and there's so many great stores to shop at in Franklin. I’ve always wanted to go on a road trip and Tennessee was the perfect distance for a short trip. Not to mention, I had the greatest road trip buddy :)

The day I completed my first Mud Run.
It’s harder than I thought and as fun as it looks.

The day we took a trip to the beach.
I’m pretty sure Alyanna and I have been talking about
going to the beach together since 2010 and we finally made it happen.

The day I met Nick Jonas.
Okay THIS DAY. this day. I dreamt of this day since I was 14. Yes, my obsession for the Jonas Brothers has dwindled as I’ve gotten older, however my love for them never has. Jess and I haven’t missed a tour since 2008 so this summer was no exception. Seeing as our favorite boy band is no longer together, this was the last Jobro concert for us and it was definitely the most memorable. (But let’s be honest, I’m still hoping for a reunion tour)

The day (week) spent in the Outer Banks.
Our annual family beach trip.

The day I saw The Legends of the Summer.
From the time I bought these tickets I was counting down
the days until I saw JT and Jay-Z at Citizens Bank Park. Worth every penny.

The day my best friend got MARRIED.
The most beautiful bride, beautiful day,
celebrating one of the cutest couples I know.
This day was all around wonderful.

The day I saw Kelly and Michael LIVE.
like IN REAL LIFE. I absolutely love Kelly and Michael
and watch them every morning. So when I finally got tickets
to see them in New York City, it was a monumental day.

The day I went to Colorado.
I had the opportunity to fly to Colorado to help
film a wedding in September. Although it was a quick trip,
what I did see of Colorado was so beautiful and I hope to get
a chance to go back someday with more time to explore!

The day I got to see my pre-school teacher.
There is no better teacher a pre-schooler could have than Miss Verna.
She has known me since I was 2 and I’m so thankful for the
impact she’s had on my life through my years growing up.

The day we filmed a beautiful wedding.
Maddie is a gem and the best person to work beside.
I learned so much from her and we had so much fun capturing
Kent and Ashleigh's big day!

The day I went to ATL!
Lauren and I took a trip in November to visit our friend, Maren,
who is living in Atlanta, Georgia. We were all childhood friends and neighbors
growing up so it’s always fun when the three of us get together again.
Our trip was quick but I loved Atlanta and had the best time with my BFFZ.

The day we got snowed in.
Christmas music, baking, movies. I used to hate being snowed in
and I would beg my parents to drive me to a friends house.
Now I’d give anything to have a cozy, snowed in day at home.

The day I turned 21.
spent with some of my favorite people.

The day Drake came to Philly.
See that little dot on the stage?
That's Drake.

The day I found out I'm going to be an aunt.
well, kinda. my cousin is going to have a lil babe in July!

The (rainy) day we went to Prince St.
Over Christmas break it was great catching up with
Steph, Amber and Angela since I don’t get to see them too often.
I’m so thankful for these girls and the encouragement that each of them are to me.

12/24/13

hi world

I know, I caved and became one of “those” people.

So, what’s the proper protocol on starting a blog?

I plan to share pictures and stories from my life here

for those friends and family that are interested!

Maybe this will be a 3 week phase, maybe I’ll love it

and actually figure out what I’m doing.

Either way, feel free to check back soon!
